Termidor® FAQ

If you’ve never heard of Termidor, you aren’t alone. Most folks haven’t heard of this termiticide (that’s an insecticide specifically designed for termites) that can be used to treat termites. And unfortunately, you probably won’t be aware of Termidor until you have a problem. When termites infiltrate your house, Termidor quickly becomes a household name, and you may be curious about this new product that you’ve never heard about. Today, we’re here to clear up some of the confusion. Here are all of the questions that we encounter when we introduce Termidor to our clients:

What Exactly Is Termidor?

Here is what Termidor claims on their own site:

“Termidor® termiticide/insecticide is America’s #1 termite defense product. A professionally applied Termidor termite treatment is the best way to eliminate a termite infestation and prevent future termite infestations from damaging your home. For unparalleled termite control and to protect your home, rest assured with Termidor.”

Termidor is a powerful termiticide. Unlike other termiticides on the market, this termiticide actually doesn’t kill termites—at least not right away. The genius behind Termidor is that it can be transferred from termite to termite. In fact, termites are attracted to Termidor, and they willingly transfer the termiticide to other termites in the colony. Then the termiticide eventually takes effect, and all termites that have come into contact with Termidor die off.

How Effective Is Termidor?

Termidor is incredibly effective. In fact, it delivers devastating results that are unmatched by any other product. Termidor has a 100 percent control impact in three months or less.

Can Termidor Be Used for All Termite Types?

Termidor is effective for drywood termites and subterranean termites, both of which are prevalent in Arizona.

How Does Termidor Exterminate Drywood Termites?

Termidor can be applied within termite tunnels to allow drywood termites to transfer the termiticide throughout the colony.

How Does Termidor Exterminate Subterranean Termites?

Termidor is applied around the perimeter of your home. An exterminator will inject Termidor around the perimeter of your home to ensure that the solution is appropriately saturated within the soil. When termites are nearby, instead of making it to the foundation of your home, they’ll come into contact with Termidor.

Does Termidor Have a Lasting Effect?

Yes!

When applied in the ground around your property, Termidor can remain effective for 8 years or more. That’s lasting protection against subterranean termites.

Can I Apply Termidor Myself?

Due to the power of Termidor, and the process of its application, Termidor can only be applied by a trained and certified professional. Here at Arizona Termite Specialist, our termite control experts are Termidor certified. We’re trained to apply Termidor on your property.
